I posted last week regarding the new Sheriff in town and the fact there was gonna be a crackdown at Burning Man. Earlier this week there were several editorials in the RGJ advising the new Sheriff to lighten up. That is not going to happen.
A recent article advised that citations and arrests have nearly doubled since last year. This is attributed to more officers being in the area, certainly not because the new Sheriff said it would happen last week.
Pershing County claims that Burners bring nothing but "heartache" to their area but quite frankly no one else sees it that way, except maybe the F.B.I. In 2010, the Federal Buerau of Investigation worked closely with Pershing County to do an investigative assessment on Burning Man. Probably not so much on the event but on Burners who are nothing more than counter-culture, maybe communist even, John Lennon listening terrorists bent on taking over the government and Pershing County.
That's really unfortunate since Pershing County actually has a lot to offer to an awful lot of people who not only live there but who go there to enjoy the peace and quiet. I've certainly been out there and the people I know and the countryside are great!
In today's world, it just has to be the right kind of people apparently. It reminds me of George Orwell's 1984. All pigs are equal, it's just that some are more equal than others.
In my world, we represent those who are deemed less equal.
If we can be of service, and already this year we have to some Burners who were arrested, please contact us at the Law Office of Arnold Brock; 775.624.5846/775.329.8844 or toll free at 877.886.9015.
